Privacy & Platform Policies

At Fluinto, your trust is our priority. Our policies are designed to ensure transparency, safety, and clarity for every user. Below are our most important policy outlines:

1. Service Scope: Language Practice & Academic & Professional Support

  • Fluinto offers two parallel services: (a) Language Practice (conversational learning) and (b) Academic & Professional Support (coaching focuses like Medical & Healthcare, Business, Legal, Tech, Service, Trades, Academic & University, Exam Preparation, General Study Help).
  • Academic & Professional Support is focus-based with one dedicated coach per focus; students can hold up to three focuses and each may include session limits per week/day and time-bound locks.
  • Language Practice and Academic & Professional Support remain separate experiences; academic/professional sessions do not mix with language practice flows.

2. Data Privacy

  • We collect only the data essential to providing Fluinto services (account functionality, language practice, and academic support features).
  • All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard protocols.
  • You can request deletion at any time; see Data Retention for details.

3. Content Usage

  • Your interactions are private and never used to train third-party models.
  • User-generated content remains your property. You grant us limited rights to process and store it securely for service purposes only.

4. Security Measures

  • We utilize multi-layered security including role-based access, token expiration, and protected endpoints.
  • Row-Level Security (RLS) is enforced across user data to ensure individual privacy.

5. AI Usage Policy

  • We use AI (including the OpenAI Assistants API) to support language learning and practice, plus selected academic study aids (for example, flashcards or generated prompts where applicable).
  • AI does not replace teachers and does not provide authoritative instruction. Do not rely on AI responses for legal, medical, financial, or other critical decisions.
  • We audit prompts and outputs for compliance with ethical use standards, and moderation includes human oversight.

6. Fair Use & Conduct

  • Abusive, exploitative, or automated misuse of the platform will result in suspension or termination.
  • We reserve the right to moderate content and restrict access if usage conflicts with our mission or values.
  • Content in live text chat and video interactions may be moderated for safety and quality; reports are reviewed to maintain a safe learning environment.

7. Cookies

We use cookies only for essential platform functionality — no third-party advertising or profiling cookies are used.

8. Changes to Policies

We may update our policies to reflect evolving standards and technology. We'll notify you of any significant changes via email or platform announcements.

9. Legal Entity & Contact

Fluinto is operated by its founder during early development and pre-launch testing. We are currently in the process of formal company registration and will update this policy accordingly once complete.

For any inquiries or data-related requests, please contact us at: support@fluinto.chat.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, or enforce our agreements. Users may request deletion; deletion may involve a grace period before final anonymization or removal. Certain records (for example, payments or security logs) may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

11. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform, including Stripe (payments and subscriptions), Supabase (authentication, database, storage, edge functions), LiveKit (real-time video), and OpenAI (AI-assisted learning features). These providers may process limited data needed to deliver their services.

12. User Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, including:

  • The right to access your personal data
  • The right to correct or delete your data
  • The right to restrict or object to data processing
  • The right to request data portability

13. Age Requirement

Fluinto is strictly for users aged 18 and above. We do not permit registration or use by minors. Accounts found to belong to individuals under 18 will be terminated and associated data will be deleted.

14. Data Transfers

If you are located outside of the United States, your information may be transferred and processed in the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data.

15. Consent & Effective Date

By using Fluinto, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy & Platform Policies notice. This policy is effective as of April 21, 2025.
